DUO ON COURSE FOR VILLA

Everton could have Leon Osman and Mikel Arteta back for Villa.

DUO ON COURSE FOR VILLA

David Moyes hopes that Leon Osman and Mikel Arteta will be back to face Aston Villa.

Both players have missed Everton's last two games, but they could be on course for the vital showdown with Villa on Sunday.

Osman is training again following his hip problem, while Arteta has been continuing his recovery in Spain.

Moyes said: "Leon started training on Monday. We hope he’ll be fine.

“Mikel is still in Spain. We’ve been speaking with him regularly. He’ll be back on Friday and hopefully will be available.”

The Everton manager also reiterated that he is certain Leighton Baines has a bright future at the club.

“At times this season, we have struggled with the stature of the team and it has been unfortunate that Leighton has been the one to suffer,” said Moyes.

“It’s not got anything to do with how he has played or anything else. We have just wanted a bit more stature at the back in certain matches and we’ve played Joleon at left-back.

“It might be that we need to find players with bigger stature elsewhere to get Leighton into the team again much more in the future.

“But I have spoken with him a couple of times and explained the situation.

“He knows what we think about him and he will be here for many years to come.”

Harjinder SinghYes, we have to treat it like a Cup Final. Only advantage we have is 1) One we have had a great season, lets not get it down the drain at the final hurdle 2) We are at home 3) We have the squad to demolish Villa and bring them back down to earth after their 15 goal haul in 3 games 4) Its about time AJ gets his 100 league goal and Yakubu gets his 20th for the season. 5) If we win, we can safely say we are in Europe next season With so many reasons, COYB we can do. Even the old famous line "1-0 to the Everton" will be music to the ears...... "COYB

Cathy CondronDavid Moyes and the fans have to treat this game like it is our Cup Final with a view to qualifying for UEFA Cup next season. A must win game Blues or its going to be a tough struggle for us. We deserve this 5th spot so much and have worked hard for it all season, dont let it slip away now to a team who are finding form in Villa. We all need to dig deep on Sunday - all of us - and give it 110% because if we dont get this 5th spot there is no justice in the world and i dont want to hear "well it always happens to us..." COME ON YOU BLUES"
