DISTIN: NO TIME TO DWELL

Distin: No Time To Dwell

by Antonia De Feo @antoniadefeo

Sylvain Distin is urging his Everton teammates to refocus quickly on Wednesday's visit of Chelsea.

The defender admitted the Blues were 'feeling sorry for themselves' after Saturday's 1-0 reverse to Liverpool.

But with the league leaders at Goodison this week, Distin knows there is no time for dwelling.

"That's the way it is in England, there's a lot of games and you don't really have too much time to feel sorry for yourself, you have to refocus on the next game," he told evertonTV.

"It's going to be another big game and it's a big month so we have to turn the page and learn from our mistakes and carry on."

Distin also reflected on the boost Everton received before the derby when Louis Saha signed a two-year contract extension.

"It's great news," said the former Portsmouth man. "He's a fantastic player He's a good guy in the dressing room as well so it's great news for the fans, the staff and players.

"He's really lively and he's really friendly so it's always enjoyable to be around guys like that."

I've seen the replay 5 times and i see the same thing. Kuyt pushes off Howard after the corner kick is taken and the balls is in the air. If it's a player wearing blue its a 50-50 call, but since its the lad wearing green, that should have been blues ball. Having said that, Tim should have put his eyes on the ball and physically gone after it regardless of what happened to kuyt. forget the man. also, i would expect saha to stand next to kuyt for height advantage. thats kinda asking too much of neville.

we have no fire power up front if saha isnt 100%, the yak isnt the same and Anichebe isnt good enough. should have put donovan up front with saha and put billy not anichebe on the right. we are a good side and wont conceide many goals anymore but unless we can get someone else other than saha scoring 10+ this season we will sruggle... europe this year i dont think so.

didn't think we deserved anything from game didn't cause them any problems with 10 men, donovan had a decent match, we concentrated too much on breaking it up instead of passing, a thoroughly poor effort. id like to see senderos 4 distin next game, we demand more blues!

The liverpool side showed how they wanted the game to be played when Carragher flattened Peinar in the first few minutes. Football wasn't in their minds!!!

Got to get the derby out of our heads and concentrate on wednesday.I think davey should have dropped tim back into the centre mid and put the yak up front I thought not the type of game to bring mikel on. When we look back on the game peanuts was vey lucky to still be on there and if thats the way they want to play by sacrificing the worst player on the pitch to get rid of the best player than it proves to me have far down they have gone.felly was just starting to run the game had gerrard in his pocket.HEADS UP BLUES.

Totally agree with Simon. Yes Howard could have done better and should ignore the attacker in front of him and let the defender deal with that. However Phil Neville's positioning was awful and he was just pushed out of the way to easy. Neville has enough experience and knowledge to know to be goal side, I think if you see Cahill's reaction to it he is feeling the same way.

john admittedly tim was at fault but so was phil neville, i'm pretty sure that the first thing your taught to do is to stay goal side of an attacking player, if he was goal side he could have gone for the header and stopped the red from scoring

Yes we have to learn from our mistakes but its not the first time Tim Howard has forgot about the ball and concentrated on the man, and why should Arteta try to boss the play when he is just coming back. In my opinion we should keep him away from Pienaar and play him on the right in front of Neville.
