BRIAN HARRIS DIES

One of Everton’s 1966 FA Cup heroes, Brian Harris, has passed away aged 72.

Harris, a hugely popular versatile player, made 360 appearances for Everton, scoring 29 goals.

He died peacefully on Sunday in Chepstow after a short illness.

At the specific request of his family, Brian’s funeral service will take place at the St Luke’s church adjacent to Goodison Park on a date yet to be decided.

Born in Bebington, Brian joined The Toffees from Port Sunlight in 1954.

He operated effectively in a variety of positions for Everton and played 27 times during the 1962-63 League Championship campaign.

Five months after playing his part in the never-to-be-forgotten Wembley success over Sheffield Wednesday, Brian left Goodison to join Cardiff City.
