Blues Hopeful Of Naughton Deal

Everton remain hopeful that Kyle Naughton will become their latest signing.

The Blues are keen on securing the services of the 20-year-old full-back, having agreed a deal with Sheffield United.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright said: "We agreed a deal on Thursday night with Sheffield for the transfer of Kyle Naughton and we were hopeful that last weekend we could meet the boy and do a medical.

"Things are ongoing, he hasn't had his medical and he's not an Everton player yet."

Naughton caught the eye for the Blades this season and he's now made 40 appearances for the Yorkshire outfit.

He also impressed Stuart Pearce, the England Under-21s manager handing him two caps last season.

Last term he also took United's young player of the season award and was included in the Championship team of the year.

mark bradburyIf the lad chooses somewhere else what about Volz?I've not really seen him but the Fulham fans love him and he's FREE !!!

Alec WalkerIt should be illegal for a club to take a player from another club by bribing, him, especially if he is on a contract. I hope City struggle to mesh ,as too many players with big Ego's don't make team.

John HauThere are all sort of rumour some even say they are going to Spurs and some say Kyle Naughton would like to come to us but Walker want to stay at United, I just don't know what to believe? I am getting a little bit worried, please do anything you could possibly do to sign "Kyle Naughton" & if it's true "Kyle Walker as well".

Maurice O'ConnorRemember Nugent? The 'Dodgy Geezer' 'Arry uped the ante and saw Portsmouth cough up £8m for him lastyear . D.M. didn't bite and he's done nothing for 'Arry's old club since. D.M. knows the drill - he's forgotten more than 'Arry'll ever know. I'll be surprised if the lad joins Spurs. All Championship players are a bit risky.

Friday 17th July 15:00 Report Comment

William QuayleHarry Rednapp did it to us with Nugent and he is at it again with Naughton. I reckon he has a bug in Moyes' office. He hoves into view with a southern 'wad of wonga' and turns the players head. Naughton should look how often Nugent played for Harry. Messsge to Spurs fans - he nearly bankrupted West Ham, Southampton and Portsmouth - your next.

Ibnu SinaHe is going to spurs for sure. They beat us in that. Spurs's Chris Gunter actually a good international right back, he might be available to buy/loan. 15M pound bid for Lescott, from Man city is just unacceptable, he is worth more than that, We all say no, but he might leave for higher wage.

stephen robsondon't city know when to back off Moyes has said no,city should respect this as Lescott is still contrated to Everton.

david taggartLooks like from various sources Naughton will be going to Spurs , but lets see you never no as all throught the break we tend to believe bull. If he does go though its probably for the silly money spurs are offering so good ridens I say , we need players who play for the club not the cash , I did read reports of Miguel interest and others lets not panic in Moyes we trust , Cana and Ledley would be welcome additions Cana first team and Ledley for the bench Phil can go right back but I like Hibberts commitment hes blue throu and throu and could have a brilliant season to come hes over due it .

brennan finneganAnyone who believes DMs transfer policy isto their liking this summer needs to remove their blinkers. We have signed two young lads, who may excel in the futureyears, plus another loan deal for Jo. We need at least one major signing who will improve the team immediately. It takes time to settle into a team, as Fell proved last year. There must be money available for transfers with a 80mill profit so give DM a portion now and not on the last day of the window. I would much prefer a team builing strategy to gain a top 4 place this coming season, rather than one for sometime in the future.

James WilkinsonI agree with david, we should definetly go after lorik cana, he is capable of filling that central mifielder role, also he is available for 6 mil, and in this day and age and at his quality that is a steal, also he is willing to go to everton, hurry though because hamburg are negotiating but cana is willing to cut off those negotiations and join everton, also wouldnt mind to see naughton in the royal blue this season, cant wait for august 15th 5:15pm

DAVE HUNTERRef Doug Turner People are talking about Naughton as it is the only one we know about, Moyes may have a few more in the pipeline but doesn't want to let any body know (especially Spurs or Villa) Leave the manager to do what he does best.

John HauDid you guys watch the play-off final? Both "Kyle Naughton" & "Kyle Walker" did great in it. It was such a shame United didn't make it in the final, but then again if United had made it we would never had the chance to sign them. For me Kyle Walker stand out more in the final but that would probably because Walker was playing on his natural side and Kyle Naughton was not, at the end of the day I fancy signing both of them!

Stig Andre KarlsenI have never seen Naughty playing, but they say he is one of the biggest prospects outside the premiership. Moyes knows what he wants and knows what he gets in Naughton. In the long run Hibbert isn´t good enough. He is a great tackler, but not very good in the attacking play. I also have my hopes on Loric Cana. He would be a perfect defensive midfielder! He has stated that he would join Everton if they come with a bid. Don´t let that chance go!!!

Thursday 16th July 10:07 Report Comment

david taggartWell to be honest I thing Naughton would be an excellent signing if hes not intrested in money which spurs will no dout offer him , If there is any truth in the matter i 'd like to see Lorik Cana he has expeirience and from what Ive seen looks better than Mbia , also what of Joe Ledley but could he cut it all I see is a big gamble but hey In Moyes we trust

Cathy CondronI am so pleased but not surprised by David Moyes message last evening, telling Clubs to stay away! Its great to think that still in this day and age, Managers can tell others where to go! He has players signed to good contracts and if its them that want to leave then so be it! Moyes has made it clear he isnt letting anyone go....so if Joleon decides he wants to bail out and go and join the "test-tube" team at City then go! The wages being mentioned for John Terry are ridiculous and Mark Hughes talks about current climate and credit crunch! They are a disgrace to the game. Its been proven over the years spending big doesnt bring you cups. Look at Newcastle and Leeds. It wont do anything for Mark Hughes career either. If he doesnt win anything, he'll be on his way. David Moyes is builidng a team and doing it the right way! Money helps of course, but it doenst guarantee you success.....maybe Championship football but not for us Royal Blues!

Carl OsborneIm getting pretty tired of people saying were running out of time in the transfer market. Theres over 40 days left and weve already signed 3 naughton would be the 4th!!! we hadnt signed anyone with 3 days left last year!! no pleasing some people. Naughton would be a brilliant signing, im liking moyes transfer policy this year almost doing an Arsene wenger bringin in young talent before there valuation rises in couple years time. A team for the future coyb, IMWT

John HauFinally we have got some sort of confirmation from our own OS, and I hope this deal would go through. There is rumour about this double deal on "Kyle Walker" as well, I remember watching them both play in play-off final both looks great, hope we could sign them both.

John CoadyI havent seen the boy play to be honest but im sure Moyesey has a phone book like dossier on him. If tyhe boss thinks hes worth the money then he must be. We know the gaffer doesnt part with cash for the sake of it and all Evertonians are grateful for that. Ok it means we may not get household names in but we bring in good young talent which coupled with not laying out much dough means the future of the club is looking good.

Alan PolakIf we haven't already done so, the club should consider sending a solicitors' letter to Sheffield United drawing their attention to the law on breach of contract as it relates to verbal agreements. Any sympathy for them over the Tevez affair is rapidly disappearing.

Ajamu MutumwaOK, I've got to say it. Compared to the right back wasteland that is spurs, we offer a better career choice, more opportunnities to win something than any of our "best of the rest" rivals. We also have a reputation for playing young players who are good enough to get into our team And I haven't even started to tell you how good the fans are compared to others. Joining Everton is the only logical choice.
