Blues Closing In On Jo

Everton officials are aiming to finalise a deal for Jo ahead of tonight's trip to Bury.

The Blues have been in continuing discussions with Manchester City over the striker since announcing talks on Tuesday.

Jo, a Brazilian international, spent five months on loan at Goodison Park last season, netting five times in 12 appearances.

Now David Moyes wants to bring the 22-year-old, who has spent the week at Everton's training camp in Scotland, back to Merseyside.

It's hoped the deal will be completed in time for Jo to feature in this evening's friendly - the first of Everton's pre-season campaign.

The Blues are also seeking international clearance for new signing Shkodran Mustafi ahead of the trip to Gigg Lane.

Mustafi, 17, completed a free transfer from German outfit Hamburg on Tuesday.

Jack FarronThis is on the Sheff Utd website so it must be true!!!!: Naughton latest Posted on: Fri 10 Jul 2009 "Sheffield United can confirm that the club have agreed a deal with Everton for the transfer of Kyle Naughton. But the deal is still subject to the player's agreement." Fingers crossed!! COYB!!!!

Clive TaylorI am a big fan of Jo's, I think he showed great promise last season and there were a few flashes of real class. I have however, like Nick Mort, heard that we will be losing Lescott to City, and that Richards and a few million will be coming the other way. Much better news, we have agreed a fee for Kyle Naughton and are sorting out personal terms. He would be a cracking signing so fingers crossed. If Joleon wants to put money ahead of playing european footie next year then so be it. Let him go, and make sure we get the very best deal we can. He's not even the best centre back at our club. I would like him to show his loyalty to DM however and come out and say that he doesn't want a move and he wants to repay the faith he showed in him when he bought him from Wolves.

Ibnu SinaJust a little update, deal have been made to shef.u to bring Kyle Naughton for 4M pound, contract will be discussed with player and agent shortly. Espanyol defender, Sergio Sanchez is next target, he is also targeted by Sevilla and Valencia. Defour transfer are still on hold, no further comment on transfer fee from Standard Liege yet, we had bid at 13M pound.

dominic boylewow wee we may just may sign someone on loan, if Lescott goes thats me finished with this board and i'm not a Kenwright basher. I'm not putting up with the same crap that happened last close season, get it sorted now and give us fans what we deserve = a couple of decent signings without letting our best players leave. Doesm or motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum not mean anything anymore????????

Vincent OliverHe would be an useful addition to the squad, but we still need another five or six players if we are to challenge on all fronts.

Mark LynchBarrie..... Moyes has stated that he will not Sell Lescot..... the problem is tho, if Lescot is tempted by City's wealth(coz lates face it, he couldnt say it was to better his footballing career could he !!!) then he will have to go.... no team wants a player who doesnt want to play for them..... this is not confirmation that he wants to go, just my opinion, and personally i really hope he doesnt want to go, he has proved a valuable 1st team member and i am sure his is one of the 1st names on the team sheet every week..... but it all boils down to money or desire........ its your decision Jolean....

Sarah HalpinHappy with this deal if it can get sorted, Jo looked promising last season in the time we had him., and if he gets the pre-season with the rest of the team this time round i think he can only be even better next season. x

John HauIt would be great to have JO with us again, any addition to us is a plus as we are running low on number.

Friday 10th July 11:13 Report Comment

Barrie MillerThis must NOT form part of a deal for Lescott. Moyes must confirm that his players will not be sold for funding as we have been consistant performers at the top of the league we must have money for these endevoures. Someone must come out and make a statement of intent for EFC and declare that we will not sell. COYB
