Billy's Red Was Right
Diniyar Bilyaletdinov
David Moyes was forced to accept Diniyar Bilyaletdinov's sending off in the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa.
However the Everton manager told evertonTV he wishes similar challenges on his own players had been punished earlier in the season.
Tackles on Phil Neville and Steven Pienaar by Dickson Etuhu and Aaron Mokoena respectively went unpunished but the Everton players are still sidelined by the injuries they sustained.
"I have seen challenges like that given a red so I have to accept it," he told evertonTV. "There is a possibility it was a red.
"It would have been nice if challenges on Phil Neville and Steven Pienaar were picked up in the same way though."
Moyes admitted he had sympathy for Villa who also ended the match with ten men following the sending off Carlos Cuellar for a second bookable offence.
"I thought it was harsh on Aston Villa even though the boy had two or three fouls after his first booking but I think the ref reacted after the Billy challenge," continued Moyes.
The Blues boss has urged his side to move on quickly from the draw at Goodison and focus on returning to winning ways.
"We are disappointed we only got a point but in the same breath we haven't had a very good week and it was a tight game," he added.
"Maybe we have to take the point and move on."

Mark ReidHe is available for the Merseyside Derby. Misses West Ham (A), Man U (A) and Hull (A) then is available for the Kopites on November 29th (H). Concentrate on signing another winger in January and getting Pienaar back fit. The FA won't listen and just dig their heels in anyway.

Dave BrewMoysie..Make an appeal man. I watched the tackle a few times on the sky program "goals on sunday" and clearly Billy's foot gives way as he goes in for the tackle, it was a yellow card. Even Kammy thought the ref had got it wrong! The others across the park are allegidley planning to appeal the two red cards they received, I bet they win those appeals, even though they where clearly red cards.

Ryan GordonI Agree with Kevin James! Whats MOTDs problem, We are always on last! We'd probably be last on the football league show!! i mean week after week we are always last. Liverpool are always on because of Alan Hansen -_-. Anyway, we need pienaar and jagielka back and obviously arteta!

alexis leungWe lost 2 points and Billy in that game. I haven't seen Villa played that bad in many years and we let them off the hook. Jo can do Billy's job easily. Cahill is an attacker but there must be a DVD for sale somewhere teaching defenders how to stop him scoring from set pieces. Time to sort out new tricks, King Cahill! I also believe that it is hard to win a game at this level starting with our new boys. Look at the figures.

francis donnarummai think this was a yellow at best. he just went in strong and won the ball. his studs were up but his feet were pretty much on the floor. players wear shin pads anyway.
Monday 2nd November 07:16 Report CommentLawrence SharpI thought Bily was unlucky... definitely a foul, and worth a yellow, but a straight red ? I'm not too sure... I agree with those who have commented on our lack of creativity. With both Arteta and Pienaar out we lack invention. Even so, I thought we had the best of the play and were a little unlucky not to get all three points... at half-time I worried about our concentration in the opening exchanges of the second half, and sure enough, it was in the first minute after the break that we surrendered two points ! But a better performance all the same. COYB.

Alan GarnerImagine David Moyes as the Fat Waiter or Self-indulgent Ferguson: "We are appealing Billy's sending off. He clearly wasn't involved in the incident; the seriously underfit official wasn't even on the pitch at the time; this is all part of a plan which began with the assassination of President Kennedy in the '60's to undermine Everton's position at the top of the football spectrum. We shall be appealing to soon-to-be President Blair Witch for a European ruling. Take it on the chin, Rafa. Carra should have gone against United, never mind Fulham! Blues to win the Derby 2-1.

Malcolm BubbAgree with Steve Carthy - Bily' definitely SLIPPED as he went in. As a result the grounded foot went forward too, making it a two footed challenge. This may also have brought his feet higher as happens when someone falls backwards. Definite grounds for APPEAL.

brennan finneganAgree with Sean Maher about no creativity and defensive lapses costing us, but one action iv missed recently is Tim at the corner flagpost. The captaincy seems to have affected his form.

Steve CarthyThis is a red card that should be APPEALED. Billy was slipping as he challenged Petrov and a yellow card should have sufficed. Had Probert given the foul on Baines which led to the challenge then this would not have happened. Any reason why Yobo was not captain instead of Cahill ? How long before Pienaar is back. We havn't won a game whilst he has been missing..... No Creativity !!!!!
Sunday 1st November 12:06 Report CommentKevin JamesIt's just one of those things. Like the classic phrase 'i've seen them given' Better performance, poor defending for the villa goal, fellaini and gosling didn't react quick enough. My fiancee wanted to know if we had changed our name to "and finally everton" as that's all Mr linaker seems to say now. Seriously what's motd's problem with us!!
Sunday 1st November 00:04 Report CommentStan DalzielFor once I disagree with DM's assessment of billy's challenge Almost everbody to a man in the Park End was certain he got the ball, & the Villa player was getting up until he saw the ref walking over,he slumped back like someone in the main stand had shot him no doubt the ref was influenced by that. Nice to see Billy on the score sheet. I will love to see him when Arteta's pulling the strings in the middle. COYB Benfica beckon
Saturday 31st October 21:39 Report Commentdavid okafogreat billy, i really believe with this performance, u are npt only going to be in the first team when all the guys are back from injury, but will go on to become a legend at this club........COYB!!!!!!

Paul MaherOnce again the wasting of chances, the lack of creativity and just not being able to keep a clean sheet cost us 2 points. How much longer is this going to go on for?
