BAINES PROMISES MORE

There's still plenty to come from Leighton Baines.

The full back made his first start for Everton on Saturday in the 1-1 draw with Blackburn.

And despite giving an encouraging display in defence, Baines says he can only improve now he's at Goodison.

Baines exclusively told evertonTV: "I would like to think there is more to come.

"It was nice to get the first game under my belt. You always feel you could have done more and I definitely could have done, but it was a good steady debut for myself so it's onwards and upwards now."

The 22-year-old wasted no time pushing forward when the opportunity arose, and he confirmed that he sees that as an important part of his game.

"Hopefully in the home games I'll get the opportunity to do that," he continued.

"Away from home sometimes you have to have a bit more about you and take care of your defensive duties, but when the time is right I'll step in and look to help the lads further forwards."
