Mikel Arteta

Arteta Rated "50/50"

by Adam Clark | Tuesday 27 January 2009, 13:55

Mikel Arteta is "50/50" for Wednesday's visit of Arsenal, according to Everton boss David Moyes.

A rib injury forced the Spaniard to sit out Sunday's FA Cup fourth round encounter with Liverpool, and he is now fighting to be fit for the crunch Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

Moyes, who has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game with Arsene Wenger's side, also confirmed Louis Saha is making good progress in his bid to overcome the hamstring injury which has kept him out since November.

The Scot expects the Frenchman to be back in training within a fortnight.

"Mikel is 50/50," Moyes told his pre-match press conference. "Louis is doing better and should be back in a couple of weeks.

"Everyone else [who played against Liverpool] is okay."

Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini is available for selection again after serving a two-match ban.

i really hope arteta is back, but fellani will be playing so its not all bad infact ill be tempted to leave arteta out so he will be ready for united and liverpool, arsenals current form aint tht good so we may not need him , give avm a run on the wing he wants to prove himself give him a go

I would rather he did not rush back for Arsenal if I am honest. Better Mikel is fighting fit for subsequent games against Man U and Liverpool than risk further injuring himself against Arsenal.
