Arteta Rated "50/50"

Midfielder fighting to be fit in time for visit of Arsenal.

Arteta Rated "50/50"

Mikel Arteta is "50/50" for Wednesday's visit of Arsenal, according to Everton boss David Moyes.

A rib injury forced the Spaniard to sit out Sunday's FA Cup fourth round encounter with Liverpool, and he is now fighting to be fit for the crunch Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

Moyes, who has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game with Arsene Wenger's side, also confirmed Louis Saha is making good progress in his bid to overcome the hamstring injury which has kept him out since November.

The Scot expects the Frenchman to be back in training within a fortnight.

"Mikel is 50/50," Moyes told his pre-match press conference. "Louis is doing better and should be back in a couple of weeks.

"Everyone else [who played against Liverpool] is okay."

Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini is available for selection again after serving a two-match ban.

simon conleyi really hope arteta is back, but fellani will be playing so its not all bad infact ill be tempted to leave arteta out so he will be ready for united and liverpool, arsenals current form aint tht good so we may not need him , give avm a run on the wing he wants to prove himself give him a go

David MartinI would rather he did not rush back for Arsenal if I am honest. Better Mikel is fighting fit for subsequent games against Man U and Liverpool than risk further injuring himself against Arsenal.

jack seeryif mikel is rated 50/50 i think best we shouldnt take this risk of him gettin injured again and make sure he is fit for man utd and liverpool. with fellaini back we should be ok if arteta misses the arsenal game. i think we can beat arsenal without mikel but we needs him for utd and liverpool. hopefully a few faces may come in soon. maybe Hugo Almeida will join and a lot of talk is about a young irish defender Seamus Coleman . personally i think we should look at Emerson from AC Milan - portsmouth are looking at him and reports say he wouldnt mind signing for them so he would sign for us then ! hes out of contract in summer aswell ! a loan until end of season? also why not look at jason koumas and ryan taylor from wigan , both out of contract in summer aswell !
