Arteta Makes Bench
Mikel Arteta
Mikel Arteta has been named as a substitute for the FA Cup clash with Birmingham.
The Spanish playmaker is back in the Everton squad for the first time in almost a year, after rupturing his cruciate knee ligament in the Premier League against Newcastle United last February.
The sight of Arteta on the bench will be great news for manager David Moyes and the fans, while the starting line-up remains unchanged from the win over Manchester City.
That means that Tim Howard starts in goal, with a back four of captain, Phil Neville at right-back, Leighton Baines on the oppposite flank and Sylvain Distin and John Heitinga as the central defensive pairing.
A midfield quintet of Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Steven Pienaar, Marouane Fellaini, Tim Cahill and Landon Donovan.
And the Blues' leading scorer Louis Saha will lead the line in a 4-5-1 formation.
Midfielder Leon Osman also returns to the squad after suffering a hamstring injury.
Everton XI: Howard, Heitinga, Bilyaletdinov, Saha, Donovan, Distin, Cahill, Neville, Pienaar, Baines, Fellaini. Subs: Nash, Arteta, Vaughan, Osman, Coleman, Duffy, Baxter.
Everton's official betting partner, Paddy Power, have some great odds for today's game. Here is just a selection:
14/1 Donovan 1st goal – double the odds exclusive
6/1 Saha 1st goal
16/1 Pienaar 1st goal
17/2 Everton win 2-1
