Another Vaughan Setback

Blues striker recalled from loan spell after new injury worry.

Another Vaughan Setback

The centre-forward, who joined the Championship side last month on a three-month temporary deal, has had to undergo yet more surgery.

Everton’s Head Physiotherapist, Mick Rathbone, explained more:  “James suffered a slight tear in his cartilage whilst playing for Derby a couple of weeks ago,” he told evertonfc.com.

“If there is anything positive at all about it, it’s that this is a brand new injury – it’s not a recurrence of anything he’s had before.”

Vaughan has managed just two appearances for The Rams and it remains to be seen whether or not he will be able to add to that tally during his loan spell.

“It’s a very minor tear and James has been to London this week to have the cartilage trimmed,” added Rathbone. “We hope that he won’t be out of action for too long.”

Grant Everton RigbyYou have so much potential and i am sure you will be back stronger than ever. Saha has had 4 years of hell and he has pulled through so it can be done, you might go the next 10 years with nothing more than a sprained ankle...good luck with the recovery COYB!!!

David ClarkDon't rush back Vaughany - it takes 6-8 weeks minimum for the insides of your knee to heal properly. But, I'm sure you're getting expert care and physio. I've torn (& split) the meniscus cartliage in both knees in the last 18 months so I understand your frustration. Good luck - can't wait to see you back in a Blue shirt.

Malcolm BubbEven if you are injury prone (and let's hope you're not), you can still cut it at the top. Whether he likes it or not Saha is a great example of what persistance can bring you. He is so highly regarded, in years to come people will forget he ever got injured.

Stuart GrahamWhat a nightmare Vaughany. Keep ya chin up and take some inspiration from King Louis. “Success is failure turned inside out, the silver tints of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, it may be near when it seems afar, so stick to the fight when your hardest hit........It’s when things go wrong, that you musn’t QUIT. DAVE HUNTERHow unlucky is this lad, If anybody his age has had so many knock backs I would be very surprised, hopefully it isn't too serious and he can once again get on with his career, hopefully at Everton and go on to be a great player in the blue shirt.
