The Everton medical team have been assessing the results of Andy Johnson's ankle scan.
The Blues striker limped off the field at Upton Park after just six minutes at the weekend and had a scan in Liverpool on Monday.
Head Physiotherapist, Mick Rathbone, has spoken exclusively to evertonfc.com, but declared that it's too early to start guessing whether or not Johnson would be available for the visit of Manchester United on Saturday.
"AJ has had a scan and that seems to confirm our clinical diagnosis that he sprained his ankle," he said.
"It's too soon to estimate recovery time but the good thing is that the player normally heals quite quickly so it's fingers crossed as far as we are concerned."
