With qualification secure, Everton fans can already start looking forward to an extended run in The Europa League and watch Friday’s draw with great anticipation. Before that, Everton finish the group stages with a home match against BATE Borisov. Paddy Power are expecting home advantage to pay and for Everton to show they are worthy of being 1/2 favourites for the match. BATE have yet to win on their travels in this season’s Europa League so they should be 10/1 instead of 5/1 to win on Thursday night.

Knowing that their passage into the knockout stages is secure, David Moyes could opt to rest some first teamers, letting the likes of Louis Saha have a break in time for the weekend game against Birmingham City. Which means the likes of Jose Baxter, Dan Gosling and Kieron Agard could all get a starting spot. The boss knows that winning breeds confidence so he’ll put a side out to win, which because of the current injury situation, will mean a mixture of youth and experience. Decent things are expected of Agard; he’s been scoring goals in the reserve team and should he get the nod on Thursday, will offer something different to the other Everton strikers. For those Everton fans in the know, he could be a good 1st goalscorer bet at 13/2.

Everton’s tactics worked well against Chelsea and coming away from there with a draw is a great result. Team spirit will be high and they’ll be looking to finish the Europa year with three points. It’s unlikely to be a goalfest as BATE will be playing for pride, however class should prove the decidere and Everton look to have more.
