Donovan Meets Media

The striker is officially unveiled to the press at Finch Farm.

Landon Donovan has officially been unveiled to the media at a press conference at Finch Farm.

The American striker faced the TV cameras and explained more about his plans for his time on Merseyside.

"Everton showed a lot of interest from day one and as a player you always want to go where you are wanted," Donovan explained to the press.  "I spoke to the manager a few times on the 'phone and now we have met properly he has confirmed to me that he is a great guy. 

"David Moyes is someone you want to play for.  He has obviously been very successful for many years here and he has been great to me from day one. 

"He gives me confidence and he allows me to express myself," the American added.  "As a footballer that is the kind of manager you like."

Donovan has completed three training sessions at Finch Farm with his new team mates and hopes to travel to the Emirates for Saturday's game with Arsenal.

The striker knows he only has a short time to prove himself on the English stage but intends to leave a long lasting impact.

"There's a lot of really good footballers here and I realised just how good they were on my first day in training.  I hope I can get on the field and help them out in any way I can. 

"If that means playing ten minutes a game or starting a game I will enjoy it. 

"If it means going in and out the team or playing every single minute while I am here then I am happy.  I hope the guys enjoy having me here and I hope to help the team win."
