Happy Birthday Dave!

Everton legend Dave Hickson turned 80 years old on Friday.

The Cannonball Kid is a much heralded figure throughout Merseyside, having played for Everton, Liverpool and Tranmere.

But it's Goodison where he is most fondly remembered, becoming a popular figure around the stadium on matchdays following his remarkable playing career.

Coached by the one and only Dixie Dean as a youngster, Hickson first played for Everton in 1951 and went on to make 243 appearances for the Toffees, scoring 111 goals.

There was a special surprise party for Dave at Goodison on Friday evening, attended by numerous Everton heroes and former teammates.
