AJ SCAN RESULTS

Everton will give Andrew Johnson every chance to prove his fitness ahead of the weekend match with West Ham.
 
The Blues striker hobbled out of the Sunday clash at Craven Cottage against Fulham and physio Mick Rathbone has given evertonfc.com an update.

“AJ had a scan on Monday and it revealed what we thought it would,” he said.

“The player has a groin strain and we’ll do everything we can to get him fit before the weekend.”

Johnson’s premature withdrawal on Sunday left Everton short of striking options after Victor Anichebe had earlier failed a fitness test.

Anichebe, too, will be closely monitored by the medical team ahead of the Hammers visit on Saturday.

“Victor jarred his hip in training on Friday and with him it’s very much a case of wait and see,” said Rathbone.
