Stones Makes Full Debut
Plus Baines features and Gibson makes comeback.
John Stones made his full international debut on Wednesday night.
The Everton youngster was winning his third cap but his 80 minute showing in the 1-0 friendly win over Norway marked his first start.
He was joined in the England back four by Leighton Baines who completed the full 90 minutes.
Club-mate Phil Jagielka was a late sub for the Three Lions, who won thanks to a penalty from Wayne Rooney midway through the second half.
Stones will aim to keep his place for Monday’s Euro 2016 qualifier in Switzerland.
Meanwhile, in Dublin, Darron Gibson got 70 minutes of action under his belt as the Republic of Ireland overcame Oman 2-0.
The Blues midfielder was playing his first football of the campaign and his first international football for 10 months but came through unscathed despite picking up a yellow card.
Fellow Everton man Aiden McGeady came on in the second half and hit the bar but Seamus Coleman wasn’t risked ahead of Sunday’s qualifier in Georgia.
