Everton boss Roberto Martinez has told Monday's Liverpool Echo he will sign a new striker ahead of the start of the 2014/15 season.

The Blues boss was speaking after his side's friendly defeat to Leicester City - opposition the Toffees will face again in their Premier League opener on Saturday 16 August.

Martinez also tells the paper that rumours he is confident of re-signing former Goodison Park loanee Romelu Lukaku are wide of the mark.

Elsewhere, there is little in the way of speculation and rumour, though the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail are among the national newspapers to report on Sunday's defeat to the Foxes in Bangkok.
