A round up of Sunday's news articles about the Blues.

What The Papers Say - 27 July

The views on this page are taken from the local and national media and do not necessarily reflect the views of Everton.

Much of the focus regarding the Blues in today's paper is on Romelu Lukaku.

The Liverpool Echo leads with a story quoting comments attributed to manager Roberto Martinez in a youtube clip from the Thai pre-season tour, with the boss reported to have told fans he is confident Lukaku will be signed.

The Sunday Express suggest that Real Madrid have joined the chase for the Belgian striker, with Lukaku wanted as their second choice if a move for Radamel Falcao at Monaco doesn't succeed.

By contrast, the Sunday Mirror suggest Wolfsburg are the only other club pursuing an interest in securing Lukaku's services.

The Star on Sunday quote Leon Osman and his eagerness to see Lukaku become an Everton player in time to figure in his testimonial game against Porto. The same paper links the club with Man City defender Micah Richards, although it suggests Spurs are in pole position.

Another Sunday paper references Everton in connection with Belgian winger Maxime Lestienne and Almeira wide-man Ramon Azeez.
