What The Papers Say - 26 July
A review of Saturday's local and national papers.
The Liverpool Echo includes images of Osman in the newly unveiled all-black Umbro away kit for the 2014/15 season.
Elsewhere in the paper, Steven Naismith talks about the quality of Mo Besic and what he has seen of the Bosnian international ahead of the completion of the 21-year-old's move to the Blues.
Roberto Martinez is also quoted in the paper, talking about Sunday's pre-season friendly with Leicester in Bangkok. The manager has urged the young players in the squad to talk their chance and prove they have what it takes to become more regular members of the first-team.
In the national media, the Daily Mail suggest the Blues are interested in AIK’s Sweden winger Nabil Bahoui, a winger it suggests is also attracting interest from Sunderland and Crystal Palace.
The same paper reports a £1.5m deal for David Henen from Anderlecht is imminent and that the Blues are awaiting news from Chelsea as to whether Romelu Lukaku is available.
In The Times, Lacina Traore is linked with a return to Merseyside on a season-long loan from Monaco and that Maxime Lestienne has been offered to the Blues by Belgium outfit Club Brugges.
The Daily Mirror run a story suggesting Christian Atsu is a target for Everton on loan from Chelsea, but that any deal hinges on Roberto Martinez's hopes of acquiring Romelu Lukaku on a permanent deal.
