McAleny's Austria Diary
The striker's final blog from Bad Erlach.
So yesterday. Well, it started in the usual fashion. If you've been reading all week then I'm sure you know the routine by now!
After all our training was done though, we all went off on a coach - players and staff - and drove for about 45 minutes to this outdoor adventure place.
We were all fitted up with harnesses on arrival and split into teams. Then we had to climb up into the trees and get across a series of obstacles at varying heights above the ground.
It was good for morale to be fair - not that it needed a lift. There were a few people getting tangled up in obstacles and there were a couple of jumps where you just had to let yourself go and trust the rope would hold you.
There was definitely no shortage of stuff to laugh at and the evertontv lads were there to film some of it as well - even though I doubt they'll be showing much of their own efforts!
But everyone got round in the end and it was a decent couple of hours to be fair.
Given that I've talked about FIFA quite a bit this week, me, Garbs, Lunny and Matty Kennedy agreed to let evertontv film a little tournament in the evening when we got back to the hotel.
It was one v one over eight minutes, with the two winners getting through to the final.
Garbs hasn't won a game all week, so I was gutted when I didn't land him in the draw. Matty's pretty handy to be fair and I did manage to avoid him. It was me and Lunny up first, then Matty and Garbs.
Obviously I won't tell you what happened in case you want to wait for the video. You should - I think our reactions will be worth a watch!
It was a good way to finish off a really good trip. It's been tough but I feel like I've got some good work in and, as I said yesterday, I'm feeling fit and ready for the next few weeks of pre-season ahead. And that's what matters at this stage.
I hope you've enjoyed my diaries throughout the week and the music tips as well. Tweet me (@CMcAleny) and let me know what you thought of the recommendations!
Going to give Urban Hymes by The Verve a listen on the flight home. Still a great album.
