Work-Rate Pleases Lawrence
Coach says players' attitude is 'first-class'.
Dennis Lawrence has lauded the attitude of Everton's players following what has been a physically gruelling first week back at training.
The Blues reconvened at Finch Farm last Thursday, before flying to Austria for a five-day warm-weather training camp on Monday.
And Lawrence, who followed Roberto Martinez from Wigan Athletic on his appointment a year ago, told evertontv: "The players have always been first class. We've never one day questioned the players' attitude and the commitment has been top-notch throughout ever since we joined the football club.
"Looking at them this week, you can just see they're raring to go again. It's good to see them progressing so well so soon."
The week in the small town of Bad Erlach, 70 kilometres south of Vienna, has given Martinez, Lawrence and fellow coaches Graeme Jones and Duncan Ferguson the chance to put long-term absentees Bryan Oviedo, Arouna Kone and Darron Gibson back among the first team.
The trio are being carefully monitored as they make their respective returns from injury and Lawrence added: "Bryan, Arouna, Gibbo - you see them doing really well and I'm delighted we've got them back.
"They've been out for a while and I'm sure they've missed it and are happy being back in and around the squad.
"The other boys are appreciating having them around and about as well."
