Thursday’s Liverpool Echo reports that Roberto Martinez will wait until next week before beginning to bolster his striking options.
The Blues have been linked with a hatful of forwards during the summer but the paper claims the Blues boss will weigh up all the possibilities before pressing ahead in the transfer market.
Everton made Gareth Barry their first summer recruit on Tuesday and, also in the Echo, former Toffee Graham Stuart has been praising the acquisition of the midfielder.
Speculation surrounding Manchester City’s Jack Rodwell continues, with the Daily Star suggesting the midfielder is keen to have his future resolved in the next fortnight. The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a return to Goodison Park, with Sunderland also said to be interested.
And, in another tabloid, Atletico Madrid midfielder Josuha Guilavogui is the latest name rumoured to be on Everton’s radar. The Frenchman, also wanted by Wolfsburg, is valued at £9million.
