Barkley Set To Start
Baines expected to miss Costa Rica clash with hamstring injury.
Ross Barkley could be in line for a first World Cup start on Tuesday as England conclude their involvement out in Brazil with the clash with Costa Rica.
With the Three Lions already heading for the exit, Roy Hodgson has said he will give as many of his players who haven’t already featured a run out in a revamped starting line-up.
Leighton Baines is expected to miss out because of a hamstring injury, with Southampton's Luke Shaw in line to start at left-back.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s game, Hodgson said: “I will be picking [the team] with a view to making certain that all the players, if possible, that have been with us here get some minutes on the field of play.
“It’s to give players a chance to go home from this World Cup – too early and bitterly disappointed – but able to say they weren’t here to make up the numbers, they actually took part.
“It will be a team which will give people that haven’t played that haven’t had much of a chance to show what they can do.”
