Saturday’s papers are a mixed bag of transfer talk and World Cup build-up.
Several of the papers, including the Telegraph and the Guardian report on Romelu Lukaku’s desire to leave Chelsea, with Everton mentioned as an interested party.
The Daily Express reports on Roberto Martinez’s search for loan stars after the success of Lukaku, Gareth Barry and Gerard Deulofeu last season.
And Deulofeu’s story also features in the Liverpool Echo, which explains, with quotes from Jordi Cruyff, that Everton’s handling of the winger has put them in ‘pole position’ to borrow other highly-rated Barca youngsters.
In World Cup talk in the Daily Mail, Steven Gerrard insists Ross Barkley is ready to shine for England in Brazil.
And Bryan Oviedo is quoted in the Star airing his opinion that Costa Rica can progress from the group stage.
