A look at the morning's papers sees Everton favourite Kevin Sheedy insist Ross Barkley will not only shine for England at this summer's World Cup, but should also start the Three Lions' opening group match with Italy, in the Echo.

Barkley's call-up to the 23-man squad is just one of a number of impressive accomplisments that Everton's Academy has enjoyed in recent weeks.

From Ryan Ledson and Jonjoe Kenny helping England become European champions to Tyias Browing and Luke Garbutt away at the Toulon tournament, Sheedy reveals the hard work behind such success.

Both Kenny and Ledson also feature discussing their European Championships victory over Holland.

Finally in the local paper, Aiden McGeady tells of a renewed desire amongst his Everton team mates to capture Champions League football.

A look at the nationals sees Roberto Martinez back his countrymen ahead of the World Cup in the Daily Star, Gerard Deulofeu bid a fond farewell to Everton.
