Naismith Takes April Award
Scot named Everton's Player of the Month.
Steven Naismith has been named Everton's Player of the Month for April.
The Scot scored two goals as the Blues won three games, completing a record run of seven straight Premier League victories in the process.
Naismith collected his award at a special lunch at Liverpool's Hilton Hotel, where he was joined by supporters, as well as Toffees legend Graeme Sharp.
"Personally, it's really good to be recognised and it gives you a bit more confidence, but obviously your teammates play a big part in it," said Naismith. "I've enjoyed every minute of being on the pitch and it's nice to be involved with such a good team and to pick up these awards.
"With the goal return I've had in the second half of the season as well, it's all been really good."
Naismith scored the opening goal in a 3-0 victory over Arsenal at the start of April before helping Everton record the seventh and final victory of their record sequence at Sunderland.
The former Rangers man also played a starring role in the fine 2-0 win over Manchester United in the Blues’ penultimate home game of the campaign at the end of the month.
"I'd say Arsenal was the highlight because I got the goal and it was a great team performance," added the 27-year-old, who has notched nine times in 35 appearances this term. "But there were a lot of good games - the Manchester United match in particular was one that was pleasing.
"And that whole run of winning games was really enjoyable. When you're enjoying your football, that's normally when you find your best form."
