Tim Howard's contract extension is a popular talking point in Good Friday's newspapers.

The American put pen-to-paper on the deal which will keep him at Goodison Park until 2018 this week - and the Daily Mirror, Daily Express and the Independent all document the news.

Elsewhere, the Guardian and Daily Mail both report that former Blues striker Wayne Rooney will be fit to play for Manchester United in Sunday's big game. The striker had been a doubt because of a toe injury.

The Mirror claim Roberto Martinez is keen on a £2million deal for Montpellier's versatile Benjamin Stamboull.

The France Under-21 international can play in either defence or midfield and is out of contract next year.

In the Liverpool Echo, former Everton boss Howard Kendall talks about the magnitude of Sunday's game, while Duncan Ferguson discuss his goal against the Red Devils nine years ago.
