Forward Flow Pleases Kev
Mirallas delighted by Blues' attacking verve.
Kevin Mirallas has praised the chemistry exhibited by Everton's forward line during Sunday's fine 3-0 win against Arsenal.
Steven Naismith and Romelu Lukaku netted in the first half and Mirallas himself has put forward his case for the Blues' third – awarded as a Mikel Arteta own goal.
But it was the relentess attacking performance that caught the eye just as much as the emphatic scoreline.
And Mirallas told evertontv: "I think all three of us in attack seemed to gel perfectly. The understanding between us was fantastic.
"We all worked hard and played well. We're all a little bit different in our own styles but it seemed to work brilliantly.
"We need everyone firing on all cylinders to grab that fourth spot and we almost played the perfect game right the way through the side - defence, midfield and attack. All the plans were carried out perfectly and it was a fantastic performance."
Everton's final goal of the afternoon came after Mirallas had dispossessed Bacary Sagna on the half way line.
A quick incisive pass to Naismith brought Wojciech Szczesny out to challenge and the Belgian raced to the loose ball alongside former Blue Arteta.
Replays suggested it was the Spaniard who applied the final touch, but having already had one strike chalked off this season, Mirallas was keen to fight his corner and claim an eight strike of the campaign.
"I definitely got a touch - I think it's my goal," he said. "Mikel got a touch but I think I got the final one. I made up the ground and pulled my foot back to kick the ball.
"I scored against Hull City and that was ruled out, so I hope the authorities take a good look at it and take the decision of giving it to me."
