Gueye Starts For Under-21s
Young Blues in action against Southampton at Southport.
Magaye Gueye starts for Everton Under-21s as they welcome Southampton to the Merseyrail Community Stadium on Monday evening.
The young Blues continue their league run-in and the Senegalese-born forward is eligible as one of three permitted overage outfield players.
The remainder of the squad is particularly youthful, however, with a debut for 16-year-old Tom Davies in midfield.
Tyias Browning and Luke Garbutt have been on the first-team bench in recent weeks and boss Alan Stubbs is able to call upon their experience at the back.
Second-year scholars Gethin Jones and Curtis Langton complete goalkeeper Mateusz Taudul's backline.
With Matthew Pennington, Hallam Hope, John Lundstram, Matthew Kennedy and Apostolos Vellios all loaned out last week and Ryan Ledson on duty for England Under-17s, Davies enters the second-string fold for the first time.
Conor Grant continues his return to full fitness with another start alongside Joe Williams, while Chris Long and George Green join Gueye in attack.
Kick-off at Southport FC's home ground is at 7pm.
Admission is free for Everton Season Ticket holders and FOREVERTON members, with entry on the turnstiles otherwise priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
