Wednesday’s national papers report that Roberto Martinez is keen to reward several of Everton’s rising stars by offering them improved contracts.
The Daily Mail, Daily Mirror and Daily Star all suggest that the Blues boss would like to negotiate new deals with Seamus Coleman, Ross Barkley, John Stones and James McCarthy.
Martinez says it is something the Club will ‘look at’ in the summer, with the Spaniard adding that the quartet are players of the ‘highest, highest level’.
In the Liverpool Echo, Martinez has lauded the performances of McCarthy since the Republic of Ireland international joined from Wigan Athletic last summer.
Martinez mentions the midfielder in the same breath as Everton legends Alan Ball, Howard Kendall and Colin Harvey by explaining that the 23-year-old is a player the Holy Trinity would admire.
