Boss Draws On Home Comforts
'Warm feeling' at Goodison can help see off Hammers, says boss.
Roberto Martinez says Everton will need to draw on home comforts to see off in-form West Ham.
The Blues won't have played at home in the league for a month when the Hammers arrive on the back of a four-match winning streak.
But with his side smarting after encouraging but ultimately fruitless trips to Tottenham and Chelsea, Martinez knows returning to Goodison will spur his side.
He told evertontv: "We feel that we have been unfairly rewarded from our recent performances and when you feel that way you can't wait to get home and enjoy your football in front of your home crowd.
"You need a bit of a warm feeling and we get that at Goodison. The team is desperate to perform well and give something back.
"We know what we are facing, we know we will have to be at our best, but from our point of view we are delighted we are coming to Goodison Park and we will be able to rely on our fans to enjoy our football.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has made a mockery of early-season rumours that his services would be dispensed with by overseeing an excellent run that has also seen them leak just one goal in their last five outings.
Martinez continued: "West Ham and Sam Allardyce deserve huge credit. I have seen many times that you can get into a negative run and it is difficult to be consistent after that; you can come up with a good result but after that then you get back to negative results.
"To see a team like West Ham concede only one goal in the last five games and record four straight wins means they are a team in form, there's no two ways about it."
