Monday’s newspapers continue to reflect on Everton’s slender 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.
The Liverpool Echo reports that striker Lacina Traore will undergo more tests to determine the severity of the hamstring injury which forced him to pull out of the weekend game shortly before kick-off.
Leighton Baines is also featured in the Echo, with the full-back insisting there should not be too much pressure heaped on Ross Barkley’s young shoulders.
Roberto Martinez also discusses Barkley in the Daily Star, explaining that he expects the England international to have regained full match sharpness in two weeks' time.
The defeat, coupled with other weekend results, leaves Everton 11 points adrift of fourth spot – but boss Martinez has told the Daily Mirror he has not given up hope of the Blues qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
