What The Papers Say - 23 February

The views on this page are taken from the local and national media and do not necessarily reflect the views of Everton.

Sunday's newspapers carry plenty of fallout from Everton's last-gasp defeat at Chelsea.

Roberto Martinez appears in the Mail on Sunday and many of the nationals questioning whether the free-kick Chelsea eventually scored from should have been given.

There's praise for the Blues' performance across the board, with the Times labelling Everton as 'classy'.

The Sunday Mirror claim Martinez is interested in bringing Joe Allen across Stanley Park from Liverpool.

Also on the transfer front, the Blues are again linked to young Dundee United full-back Andrew Robertson alongside Swansea.

Tony Cottee speaks to the Liverpool Echo and says Romelu Lukaku's imminent return is vital to the Club's run-in.

Lee Carsley writes in his Echo column that the Blues aren't getting what they deserve on the road, while also commenting on how refreshing he feels Everton going to Stamford Bridge for the win was.

Carsley also discusses Duncan Ferguson's appointment to the first-team coaching staff, anecdotally reflecting on rooming with the Scot for their pro-licence course.

marjorie joneswhat a shame ,everton couldnt win due to loads of free kicks to chelsea. put it behind you and lets start winning .like we know you can..you are good enough to do it .
