What The Papers Say - 21 February

The views on this page are taken from the local and national media and do not necessarily reflect the views of Everton.

"He's the Bry-onic man" is the headline in Friday's Liverpool Echo, as Roberto Martinez tells the local paper how Bryan Oviedo has 'staggered' the Club's medical staff with his 'remarkable' progress since breaking a leg in last month's FA Cup win at Stevenage.

The Costa Rican required major surgery after suffering a horrific double break at Broadhall Way but earlier this week posted a video of himself training on an exercise bike online.

In the same paper, Martinez describes Duncan Ferguson as 'the full package' as he explains the decision to make the former Blues forward a first-team coach. Watch an interview with Martinez on the topic here

Elsewhere in the Daily Mirror, Everton's manager explains how Saturday's trip to Chelsea will be the ultimate test of his side's Champions League ambitions, while in the Daily Mail he again talks up the coaching credentials of Ferguson, saying he will become someone 'very special in the first-team structure'.

In another tabloid, the Toffees are linked with a summer move for former West Ham star Valon Behrami. Inter Milan are also thought to be interested in the 28-year-old Swiss.
