Four players are linked with transfers to Everton in Wednesday’s local and national newspapers.

The Liverpool Echo claims that Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady is close to signing a pre-contract agreement with the Blues which would see him make a free transfer to Merseyside in the summer once his deal with Spartak Moscow has expired.

The same article also suggests that Toffees boss Roberto Martinez is interested in Blackpool attacker Tom Ince and Dundee United’s young defenders Andrew Robertson and John Souttar.

The Daily Star says that if Everton were to sign Robertson during this transfer window, they would have to pay £1.5million to secure his services.

Nikica Jelavic is once again the subject of speculation, with the Daily Mail this time linking the Croatian with a January move to Crystal Palace.

Away from transfer gossip, Martinez has told the Echo that he expects Seamus Coleman to finish with a goals return in double figures this season. The Republic of Ireland man has already netted six goals this term from right-back.

Elsewhere, the Daily Mirror report that Leighton Baines should be fit that face Norwich this Saturday, although it is likely to be towards the end of the month before Phil Jagielka, Sylvain Distin and Gerard Deulofeu are all back in action.
