Blues Enjoy Martinez's Company
First Everton Tea Party proves a huge success.
The first ever Everton Tea Party was a roaring success on Tuesday evening.
The event, held in Goodison Park's 1878 Brasserie, was hosted by Director of Communications Alan Myers and featured Roberto Martinez as a surprise special guest.
The room was filled with Evertonians who had responded to an open Twitter invite by Alan, while the event was also streamed live on evertonfc.com for fans to enjoy all over the world.
It began with a bang as Blues boss Martinez entered the room to a live ukelele version of Allez Allez Allez Oh.
He answered questions about his time at Everton so far, the reaction he has received from supporters and the January transfer window.
He also donated a signed training top as a raffle prize.
After Roberto had departed the evening continued apace with more guests joining Alan on stage.
Once Mark Rowan and Darren Griffiths had told stories of some of the Everton squad's more colourful characters from the last 20 years, Alan welcomed Alan Stubbs and David Unsworth.
The current Under-21 coaching duo discussed their playing careers and the current crop of Everton youngsters before also answering questions posed by the guests.
Ian Snodin was next in the limelight as he recounted some tales which most fans wouldn't have heard before!
And the evening was rounded off when Graeme Sharp and kitman Jimmy Martin shared more tales from the 1980s as well as revealing some of the secrets of the kit room.
All guests left with smiles on their faces, a special Tea Party cup cake and an Everton mug as souvenirs of an enjoyable evening.
