Nikica Jelavic was delighted with his goalscoring display against Queens Park Rangers.

The striker netted a double in the 4-0 victory to help book the Toffees’ place in round four of the FA Cup.

Jelavic’s appearance against Harry Redknapp’s side was his 50th start for the Blues, although his first since the 3-2 win over West Ham United at the end of September.

Romelu Lukaku has been the preferred choice in the lone striking role since.

Manager Roberto Martinez explained after Saturday's tie that he would let Jelavic join another club if the striker felt that he needed a transfer to boost his World Cup hopes.

But the Croatian hinted that his prospective 'chances' with Everton could influence any decision.

“It’s been difficult,” Jelavic told evertontv. “But Rom [Lukaku] is on fire - I’m delighted for him if I’m being honest.

“I’m training hard and every day I have been waiting for my chance.

"Now the manager saw that he can count on me as well, so we will see.

“We will see in the end but I hope he is going to give me more chances.”

Jelavic could have netted a hat-trick against QPR but squandered the opportunity to take home the match ball by miscalculating a ‘Panenka’ style penalty.

John Stones scored a similar spot-kick in the pre-season friendly against Juventus, but this time Jelavic’s 12-yard attempt rebounded back off the crossbar.

The former Rangers man continued: “After a while I have played 90 minutes so I enjoyed every minute on the pitch. I was unlucky to score a hat-trick but I’m happy with two as well.

“The first one I just smashed it wide of the keeper and for the second one Bryan made a good cross and I was in the right place.

“I just thought I was going to chip it [the penalty] whatever happens. There was punishment in the end because I missed it.

“It’s not the only game. There are plenty more and I hope I can score a hat-trick in another game.”
