Style Suits Scorer Seamus
Defender credits tactics with his five-goal haul.
Seamus Coleman says his goalscoring form is simply down to Everton's style of play.
The right-back has been consistently dazzling in 2013 and his unstoppable strike against Southampton was his fifth of the current campaign.
As the Blues' second-highest scorer behind Sunday's matchwinner Romelu Lukaku, the Ireland international charging from defence and finding the net is becoming a more frequent sight.
Indeed, his tally in the last 19 league games is equal to the total goals to his name over the previous four seasons.
And Coleman is more than happy to add such attacking prowess to his main duties at the back.
He told evertontv: "I'm obviously delighted to be getting on the scoresheet. I reverted back to my natural position, which is right-back, and I like to get forward.
"The football we are playing, we have a lot of the ball and that gets me more chances. I'll take as many goals as I can get."
In sealing three points against the Saints, Everton ended the day in fourth, five points off leaders Arsenal.
And in providing an instant response to the Boxing Day defeat to Sunderland, Coleman believes the Blues are on course for a strong second half to the campaign.
He added: "We just want to keep going the way we are. There was a little blip [on Thursday] but we have been playing well and getting good results.
"We are taking it one game at a time and looking forward to what's ahead. We want to finish as high as we can and we are doing quite well at the minute.
"That's what we want and that's what we hope for - all the players. We are an ambitious group and that's what we are striving for."
