Club Announces Away Fan Ambassador
Christine Prior to assist fans travelling to watch the Blues.
Everton Football Club has appointed an Away Fan Ambassador to assist travelling fans around the country following the Blues.
Christine Prior will take up the new role with immediate effect as part of her Supporters’ Liaison Officer duties and, as part of the new role, will be on hand to help travelling Evertonians enjoy their matchday experience.
The 24-year old has over six years’ experience working at Everton and will act as the primary point of contact between away supporters and Club officials.
Ahead of each away day she will also liaise with the opposition club to gather essential information and help to communicate any important details to Everton fans planning to attend.
Evertonians can also expect to receive information from Christine about bespoke deals affecting their awayday, the best places to stay or eat, and even the ideal location to meet and gather ahead of the game.
She will also be in a position to inform fans of what they can expect when they arrive at the stadium and, if a supporter loses a ticket or has a problem with coach travel in the build up to a fixture, Christine will be able to advise on how to resolve the issue.
Christine said: “We have the best supporters in the league and I’m looking forward to taking on this exciting new role. In my capacity as Supporters’ Liaison Officer I have been fortunate enough to meet many great people in the past 12 months in and around Goodison Park and I see this opportunity as an extension of the work in this area.
“As a proud Evertonian I have travelled to many away games in the past and understand the challenges fans face. I want to help Evertonians to enjoy every second of their away days, so I will be doing my best to make sure we are all prepared, so we can focus on getting behind Roberto and the team.”
She added: “Importantly, I will be on hand to answer any queries from fans in the build up to away games and will be communicating regularly via Club media channels and social media to keep everyone updated.”
The new role, which will evolve throughout the reminder of this season, is an integral part of Everton’s commitment to assist Blues fans on the road, as well as supporters visiting Goodison Park, as part of the Barclays Premier League Away Fans’ Initiative.
The Premier League asked all clubs to set aside £200,000 to encourage and increase away fans attendance across the league and Everton presented a raft of ideas that are being implemented throughout this campaign.
Other initiatives include discounted tickets for Evertonians at selected festive away fixtures, junior away fans randomly selected from the crowd every matchday to carry their team’s flag and take part in football coaching on the pitch at Goodison, and a visiting supporters’ guide produced by the Club to help fans to get the most from their visit to Goodison.
