There is more reaction to Everton’s 4-1 victory over Fulham in Monday’s national and local newspapers, with Roberto Martinez, Leon Osman and Seamus Coleman all having their say on the Blues’ eighth league win of the season.
In the Liverpool Echo, Coleman believes that the manner of Everton’s victory over the Cottagers – prevailing after being pegged back to 1-1 - is evidence that the Toffees have the spirit and quality to qualify for the Champions League this season.
In the same paper, the match report says Everton’s performance was ‘full of character, resilience and belief’ even if it wasn’t quite as ‘fluid’ as the recent displays at Old Trafford and the Emirates Stadium.
The Echo also reports on Gerard Deulofeu and how he faces a spell on the sidelines after injuring a hamstring in Saturday’s contest at Goodison.
Nationally, the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail contains quotes from Martinez about how England boss Roy Hodgson should give serious consideration to selecting Osman in his 23-man squad for next summer’s World Cup.
Osman himself features in the Daily Star , echoing the thoughts of teammate Coleman about Everton's belief that they can secure one of the coveted top-four positions in the Premier League.
