Leighton Baines has been shortlisted by FIFA as one of the best defenders in the world.

The 20-man list was announced by FIFPro, the worldwide players' union, and FIFA ahead of selection for FIFA FIFPro World XI 2013 later this month.

Baines has enjoyed a fine 2013 and picked up the Club's Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards in May.

The England international is currently recovering from a fractured toe and will miss tonight's game against Manchester United.
