Saturday’s 4-0 win over Stoke City means Everton are just three games away from going an entire calendar year unbeaten at home.

However, defender Seamus Coleman insists the Blues are simply focused on wins – not records.

The most recent success was just rewards for a patient approach, with the Blues delivering a heavy blow right on half-time via Gerard Deulofeu’s first Premier League goal.

Coleman then added another just three minutes after the break, a setback from which the Potters never really recovered.

But while only Fulham, Sunderland and Southampton now stand in the way of an unbeaten 2013, Coleman is just happy to keep picking up victories.

“We don’t really look at it like that [in terms of records],” he said. “We know that we are a good team at home and we know that people don’t like coming here.

“We have got a lot of good players and it showed against Stoke how confident we are.”

After Deulofeu’s opener, the Toffees rarely took their foot off the gas and could have scored more than the four they plundered.

It left many asking whether that was Everton’s most confident display under manager Roberto Martinez.

“I think it was,” said Coleman. “I thought Stoke kept things very tight in the first half but we got a goal at a good time through Gerard. That gave us confidence going into the second half.

“Thankfully I got on the scoresheet myself and we got a couple after that. To get four goals and keep a clean sheet is a massive result.”
