12 Shades Awarded
Charity calendar recognised at top PR awards.
Everton's hugely-popular ‘12 Shades of Blue' charity calendar has received prestigious recognition at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations' PRide Awards.
The limited edition calendar, which was the first of its kind to be created by a Premier League club, picked up the Silver prize in the Not-For-Profit Campaign category at North West's CIPR PRide Awards, which recognise innovative and outstanding work carried out by public relations practitioners in the UK.
The calendar, created to celebrate Everton in the Community's 25th anniversary, caused quite a stir when it was launched last Christmas as Blues fans saw the first-team as they had never seen them before - all in the name of charity.
Tim Howard, Sylvain Distin and Kevin Mirallas were among the players who agreed to pose for the calendar, in a bid to help the Blues' official charity to reach their season-long fundraising target of £1million.
Along with attracting media attention on a national stage, the calendar was a massive success with all 6,000 copies sold and an impressive £32,000 raised for Everton in the Community's anniversary campaign.
The calendar also trended nationally on Twitter during the '12 Shades of Blue' campaign and traffic to Everton in the Community's website increased by almost 50 per cent.
