Hundreds of Evertonians enjoyed an audience with Roberto Martinez on Thursday evening.

The Club put on the special event to allow fans to learn even more about the effervescent Spaniard at Everton's helm.

They packed into the Golden Miller suite at the world famous Aintree racecourse to hear Martinez discuss all aspects of his career.

Audience with MartinezThe manager receives a standing ovation.

Beginning with his formative years in Zaragoza, the Blues boss discussed his life and times, including the culture shock of a switch to Wigan, his transition into management, and - of course - the moment he decided to become Everton manager.

Martinez was relaxed throughout and shared a number of anecdotes - always with a smile on his face.

Sky Sports' Julian Warren was the evening's MC and there was also entertainment from local funny-man and impressionist Mark Langley.

But it was all about main man Martinez and he topped everyone's night off with one of his final answers, saying: "Nowadays, you don't get football clubs like ours."
