Pienaar's Hull Fight
Boss hoping midfielder can be fit in time for Tigers clash.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez says he will give midfielder Steven Pienaar every chance to prove his fitness ahead of next weekend's visit of Hull City.
The South African hasn't featured for the Blues since picking up a training injury in the build-up to last month's 1-0 win over Chelsea.
However, Pienaar is now on the mend and Martinez remains hopeful he could be available for the clash with Steve Bruce's Tigers.
Meanwhile, an Everton debut may finally be in sight for defender Antolin Alcaraz, with the Paraguayan recovering well from his latest hamstring setback.
Speaking exclusively to evertontv, Martinez said: "Stevie has reacted really well to treatment and he is progressing extremely well. We are very excited to see how Stevie copes with training and see how quickly he can get back to normal fitness.
"Antolin Alcaraz has had a very good period as well, so, all in all, those two have benefited enormously from this international break.
"We don’t want to put a date on it. We are very much seeing their reaction and seeing how quickly they can take the workload on.
"In medical terms, they shouldn’t be fit for Hull but I would not say they cannot make it."
In the video above, Martinez also discusses how he has refused to let the international break interrupt his preparations for the game against Hull and how he hopes to see Goodison's famous evening atmosphere transfer to a 3pm kick off^.
