What The Papers Say - 1 October
Reaction from the win over Newcastle in Tuesday's papers.

Tuesday’s sports pages of the local and national newspapers are dominated by coverage of Everton’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle United.
Romelu Lukaku turned in a man of the match performance at Goodison last night and his two goals are the talk of the tabloids.
The Daily Express, Daily Star and Daily Mirror all carry quotes from Roberto Martinez, who labelled the Belgian as ‘unplayable’ following his two-goal salvo against Alan Pardew’s side.
The national paper match reports also concentrate on Lukaku’s impact on the game, with the Daily Mirror and Daily Telegraph rating the on-loan striker’s performance as nine out of 10.
Locally, the Liverpool Echo highlights Ross Barkley’s sparkling midfield display. The teenager scored his first Goodison goal last night and he told the paper afterwards that he was delighted with his achievement – particularly as his mother had predicted he would get on the scoresheet against the Magpies.
Also in the Echo, there is a feature piece on Gareth Barry reaching the 500-game Premier League milestone and coverage of Darron Gibson’s recall to the Republic of Ireland squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Germany later this month.
