Ross' Yellow Peril No Concern
Roberto Martinez has no concerns over Ross Barkley's discipline.
The midfielder has picked up three yellow cards in his last four games amidst some hugely influential midfield performances.
But the Blues boss says there is no issue to deal with, instead putting the situation down to a mixture of misfortune and desire to help his teammates.
Martinez said: "Those three yellow cards are not because of his make-up; he is not that type of player.
"When you arrive in the starting 11 you want to keep your place and you are eager to help the team and sometimes you can over-do things."
Barkley was fouled for the two free-kicks which Leighton Baines scored from at West Ham but also picked up a caution in that game, adding to previous yellows against West Brom and Cardiff.
"He has been sensational and given everything he has," continued Martinez.
"I would say he has been unfortunate - the yellow card at Cardiff was very unfortunate and I think it is just because he wants to help the team so much.
"I think it will level up over the next few weeks, in terms of the number of cards someone in his position would have."
