Oviedo Out To Impress
Costa Rican desperate for chance to shine against Fulham.
Bryan Oviedo has vowed to capitalise if he is given the opportunity to figure against Fulham tonight.
The Costa Rican international's only start this term was in the Capital One Cup victory over Stevenage at Goodison Park last month.
As the Blues prepare for their third round trip to Craven Cottage in the same competition, the 23-year-old is eager for a chance to build on his impressive cameo as a second-half sub in Saturday's 3-2 win at West Ham.
He told evertontv: "I hope to play. It's very difficult because it's away against Fulham.
"I'm hoping for a good game and a very good performance because Fulham are very good team with very good players and we need to perform well because this cup is very important for us."
Oviedo was delighted with the outcome of Saturday's Upton Park success - his first taste of Premier League action this term.
He added: "It was a very hard game. We wanted to be better in the second half and we scored three very important goals.
"I am so happy with it because it's nice to be out on the pitch helping the team. Also in this game, because it was a hard and difficult game. I feel very happy to play in this game."
Oviedo was also in awe of the talents of fellow left-back Leighton Baines, who netted a brace of free-kicks as the Blues fought from behind twice to record a memorable three points.
He added: "It was good quality from Leighton Baines with the two free-kicks. It's amazing.
"The first one is a very good goal but the second one is just crazy. It's difficult to see someone score two free-kicks in the same game but I am so happy because it was good for the team.
"Leighton is a fantastic player in every aspect - in defence and attack and also from free-kicks."
