Hope Excited By Goodison Chance
Under-21s striker impatient for tonight's visit of Chelsea.
Hallam Hope says he and his teammates are relishing the opportunity to play at Goodison Park tonight.
The Blues host Chelsea under the lights having already ran out at the Etihad Stadium and St James’ Park so far this campaign.
Alan Stubbs’ youngsters will be hoping to emulate the first team’s result against the Londoners nine days ago and stretch their unbeaten run to three games following their 1-1 draw away at Newcastle.
Chelsea themselves go into the game on the back of three straight wins and Hope is expecting another hard test for the team.
“Playing at Goodison will be something different and it's definitely one I'll look forward to," he said.
“It's a tough one but it will be a good test and we're all looking forward to playing at Goodison.”
The new league format introduced ahead of the 2013/14 season has given teams the chance to face a number of different opponents from around the country.
The Under-21 set-up will once again be altered prior to next season following an announcement earlier this month that the league will be splitting into two divisions of 11 teams.
“I think it's good in this new format that we're getting to play a greater number of teams and not just the ones in the North West, and I definitely feel like I'm learning from that," said Hope, who penned a new two-year deal last week.
“You get to experience different styles of play and that can only be a benefit.”
Entrance to tonight's game is free for Season Ticket holders and FOREVERTON members. Cash turnstiles will be in operation for the Upper Bullens stand, with tickets £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. Kick-off is at 7pm.
